Impact of COVID-19, Reforms and Poor Governance on Labour Rights in India

Covid-19 has unimaginably disrupted the lives and livelihoods in the Society. Industry and Commerce incurred huge losses. Millions of formal and informal workers suffered multiple deprivations in the labour market. Ironically, this period also witnessed substantial changes in the labour laws at the regional levels and the passage of three Labour codes at the national level. Thus, the world of work in India has experienced the severest crisis.
